Miss World NZ 2010

Miss World NZ 2010 Cody Yerkovich champions ChildFund because of her family’s long-standing support of ChildFund’s work.

Cody Yerkovich’s grandparents have sponsored children through ChildFund for the past decade. Growing up Cody was able to see the progress of these sponsored children as she grew up.

“In a way, I always felt like these children were my family, a part of me. As a young girl I always wanted to do the same when I was older - help these children and be a part of their lives just like my grandparents were. ChildFund means a lot to me,” says Cody.

Cody chose to publicly support ChildFund when she represented Northland in the Miss World NZ 2010 pageant. To her family and the team at ChildFund’s delight, Cody was crowned Miss World NZ with the right to represent New Zealand at the international Miss World pageant to be held in China this month.

Fulfilling her own personal goal to make a difference, Cody has also started sponsoring a little girl in Timor Leste. Cody recently visited her grandparents’ sponsored child and her own sponsored child in Timor Leste, where Cody says she “had the experience of a lifetime”.

Wish Cody well on her Miss World NZ Facebook page and remember ChildFund is also on Facebook!
