ABOUT Nashipae

Nashipai was born in a rural village at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Rift Valley Province in the southern part of Kenya. She lives with her parents who are peasant farmers. The family relies on subsistence farming which is not always sufficient to cater for all their needs. They cultivate a small plot of land where they grow maize and beans for their livelihoods. Being a semi arid area the crop yield is always minimal as the rainfall is not reliable. This situation makes it very hard for her family to put food on the table. Their meager income annually from casual jobs is below US$150 which is not enough to meet their basic needs. Nashipai and her siblings are therefore exposed to the threat of malnutrition and lack of other basic needs. She was enrolled into the program on the committee recommendation after assessing their family's situation. She is in school and doing well. Her best subject is modeling and she enjoys hide and seek game. Your sponsorship will be a blessing to this child and her family.
